NEW YORK, NY (December 6, 2011) – Young The Giant today announced additional dates for their 2012 headline tour which now begins in San Francisco on February 9, 2012 and will go through early April. The band has been taking the world by storm with their explosive live shows, gaining fans in every corner of the world and because of overwhelming demand in several markets, shows are moving to larger venues and in some instances second nights have been added. Stubbs in Austin sold out in a day, a second show has been added and Terminal 5 in New York sold out in less than five days.
Young The Giant has enjoyed tremendous success this year with two hit songs, “My Body” and “Cough Syrup,” massive critical acclaim, and have played the main stages at some of the biggest festivals in the world including the main stage at Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Sasquatch to name a few. Their second single, “Cough Syrup” is currently #4 at Alternative radio. Their first single, “My Body” rocketed to the #4 spot on the alternative chart while the band performed the song live at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Young the Giant also graced the MTV Unplugged stage which aired November 9, 2011 on MTV.com. The band performed selections from their self-titled debut album, as well as a cover song, “Empire Ants” by Gorillaz.
